    The second hire is the dude who left the Columbia, Missouri, paper for which there is now an opening posted. Not sure on the name.

    Dave Briggs. He's a great writer. Went to school at Ohio State and did great work at the student newspaper, The Lantern. He also covered the Indians for MLB.com.

    Good hire. Markey's shoes are big ones, but Briggs has the pedigree to succeed on this beat.

    Same from here way out in SoCal. Rachel and Dave both have the background to do well. I was told by Frank I was in the "...Top 25." So that makes me fairly confident going forward.
