Fenian, I suspect there's quite a bit of red tape, but I think -- and I emphasize that I don't know, but here's what I suspect will happen from experience -- that Keith's body will soon be flown by military plane or charter through Germany and into Dover, Delaware, which is where the Port Mortuary is. That's where all the soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan are taken, and I believe that's where Keith will be taken to be prepared for burial. All I can say about that place is, a group of remarkable, wonderful people work there. They take a great deal of pride in their job, and I hope it might bring some comfort to Bob to know that his son will be among some caring and skilled folks.

Again, I don't know this for fact, but I believe that's how things will work. I know that will be of little comfort to Bob at the moment, but really, Keith couldn't be in better hands than he would be in Dover. I hope that's where he returns home.

Bob, I'm sorry for your loss.

  6. May those who knew Keith remember only the good things.
May those who know Bob and his wife surround them with love and prayers.
May those who know Keith's wife insure she never has to shoulder a burden alone.

If you know Bob, it shouldn't. He is a special individual. I will wish him my condolences here and privately.

So sorry, Bob. My grandfather committed suicide and I know there's really nothing that can be said except that we care.
