i've had the pleasure of knowing bob for 25 years, ever since he befriended a 25-year-old covering the knicks. we've since spent time together at many patriots games and super bowls.

i'm devastated for him. prayers all around. :'( :'( :'(

Condolences to the family. I can only imagine how difficult of a story that was to write for Marquard, but he did a good job.

I feel absolutely terrible for Bob. My prayers are with him and his entire family.

I barely know him, but met him about 20 years ago when I was a scrub writer going out to do a sidebar on an NBA game with Celtics in town, and when I walked into press room, Ryan stopped typing and introduced himself to me and we chatted a few minutes. He instantly made me feel like one of the guys, even though he was a legend even then, writing for the best sports section in the country.

Unbelievable guy. God bless you, Bob.
