One former athlete who I found difficult as hell to get anything out of, yet had covered him throughout his high school career here in Louisiana, was Robert "Chief" Parrish. Not that he was ever rude or anything, but just absolutely wouldn't talk. And even when he went into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and the Naismith Hall and had been out of the game and the media routine, he was still awfully difficult to get anything out of. Our Louisiana Sports Writers Association once gave him the Unofficial State Title of All-Time Toughest Interview. Again, not that he was rude or anything, but just didn't care to talk.
