That was a gut-wrenching loss for Rutgers, even if you aren't an RU fan/alum. Is there any chance they'll get a bowl other than the Texas Bowl?

Nope. There's no way the Gator will take Rutgers over WVU. The Mountaineers will still send at least 25,000 to Jacksonville.

The Big East had a great year this year and will probably need another one like this next year (and the probability for that is high) to score better bowl deals. Besides the BCS, the Big East does deserve two Jan. 1 Bowls (the Int'l Bowl excluded).

Rutgers most likely to the Texas Bowl v. K-State ... the only other possibility is Toronto.

Nope. Middle Tennessee snagged that bowl berth, opposite Central Michigan.

Yep, been that way for a few years. They actually cost Vanderbilt a bowl bid last year.

Wow. That's like watching the Play-in game in Dayton...

I was thinking more like a consolation match in a preseason NIT regional, but your comparison works as well.

Rutgers is headed to the Texas Bowl, no doubt, unfortunately.
Gator has the opton of taking a Big 12 team instead of Big East runner-up and could go that way, sending WVa to Sun Bowl.
