Just don't get caught reading that edition on a Southeast Atlantic flight.

I would run it. I agree it tells everything.

I don't have a problem with it. Sure, you're going to get calls from people who disagree, but that's part of the job.

Then again, there were a LOT of better photos available. Doubt I would have picked this one.

You think this photo sucks? There are reasons why some outlets would choose not to run it, but I think the photo itself is fantastic.

Sure, there were many excellent photos that were taken last night. Any one of them would be a fine choice. But this photo certainly doesn't suck.

Are these photos inappropriate. By today's standards, one could be considered kiddy porn, the other could be considered racial profiling taken to its extreme.

That's an incredibly powerful photo. Perfect to illustrated the anger and what these rioters were thinking. They flipped the bird and they flipped cards.

Nothing illustrates their unruliness and general riotous behavior than flipping the bird.

    Great editorial choice.

That's the Star, not the Sun.

And the picture is a big happy hello to BigDog from all of Canada. :D

I took the picture of that mobile home yesterday. My second Toronto Star credit in the last month. :)

No you haven't. You've maybe seen a bunch with destruction, or a bunch with pissed off people. You haven't seen more than five that perfectly combine the two like that photo.
And if you think you have, you obviously don't do a lot of page design.

I still have a copy of that photo. I cut it out of the now defunct Daily American, an English language newspaper that was printed, I think, in Rome, Italy back in the day. I was serving in Uncle Sam's canoe club.
