    A few caveats:

    1) Must be from an American TV program.
    2) No variety shows (including SNL, etc.)
    3) No late-night shows
    4) The show had to start AFTER 1980. No one from Taxi.

    Discuss.
    And add more to the list if you wish.

    Ted Danson from 'Becker' was pretty funny, too. I wouldn't call him the 'best,' but he was decent.

    Are you talking about best characters from a comedy show or best comedic characters?
    The best ones might not be the funniest ones...
