I dunno, I heard a lot of good things about the Auburn News. Thank god those two papers haven't merged, or they'd run Birmingham and Atlanta out of business.

Also, someone had a copy of the Hungry Horse News in my building a couple of weeks ago! I rummaged through the paper bin we had looking for the previous day's paper and found a Detroit News and the B section from good ol' Hungry Horse. Sadly it got thrown away off the place I was using as my temporary desk. It sucked, in case anyone was wondering.

Roasted Nuts will forever be the greatest headline I've ever read. It was also the worst headline I've ever read, but whenever I write a good headline, I always think of Roasted Nuts.

The St. Louis Globe-Democrat can be a pretty good read.

Tulsa Globe and ... does anyone know the fabulous story of why the Dallas Times-Herald bit the dust? If I remember correctly, it had much to do with its ability (or inability, as it turns out) to run comics.
