Yeah, I do this every year - sometimes we even get to a second page as I discuss the Tonys with the 2-3 others who watch.

Have not seen anything this year, first time in a while. Tried to get tickets to The Book of Mormon. Could not. Pretty sure it will clean up, including Best Musical. Which means I'll see it in 2013.

I'm a theater geek. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Steven Colbert should win for something.

I'm old enough to remember when people were ready to write off the Broadway musical. I know there are probably critics who kind of hate the Disneyfication of the theater - but figure the success of Shrek, Hairspray, Rock of Ages, Wicked, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast etc. actually allows some producers to take a risk on something like Book of Mormon.

Loved the opening number and was pleasantly surprised by Daniel Radcliffe although the number itself was underwhelming.

This. I was quite impressed, though, by DanRad's dancing. He really is more talented than some give him credit for.

Also, Aaron Tveit is one great performer.

Also no. 2, they should just hire NPH to host the Tonys every year.

NPH has the ability to be sarcastic & snarky while still being charming. Tough to pull off.

The SpiderMan stuff was pretty funny.

My wife couldn't believe they slipped "sodomy" into the opening number.

I think Book of Mormon is basically going to sweep most of the awards. They're setting quite the pace so far.
