    I had mine out when I was 4, so I knew because my mom and doctor told me I did. It sucked ass, my troat hurt for days and I couldn't even talk and coughed up blood. But I did get ice cream.

    Check the internet, like most have suggested.

    I had a bad case of tonsillitis more than 20 years ago when I was still in college. The doc at the campus clinic said that if it had been a few years earlier, he would have yanked them out that day. Instead, he gave me penicillin and told me to take it easy for a couple of days (like I needed an excuse to cut class).
