Tonight we're going to party like it's 1965

That comment was right under a comment about serving and receiving hot salami?

    You'd love to read that?

    That's what she said!!!!

I was 16 in 1965. No fucking way that sounds like any party I ever went to. If anyone ever put Benny Goodman on the stereo, there'd be a riot.

First of all, like today, you'd find a house where the parents were away. Unlike today, word of the party was controlled. No Facebook, no text messaging. Invite 30 people and that's all that'd show up.

It was mostly the Beatles, Elvis, the Stones, Ronnie Hawkisn et al and lots and lots and lots of lemon gin, rye and Labatts 50. And for the really adventurous, some dope.

And after getting really hammered, everyone would drive home. :)

I have the copy my Canuck in-laws bought up there when it came out.

I had no idea they had cars with tires in Canada in 1965.

My parents had this exact record, too. I wish I could find the old albums my mom and dad used to have. I think it's the only thing, other than my red plastic peace sign from Spencer Gifts, that my mother has thrown away in 30 years.

I am thankful that I am no longer forced to listen to Christmas music.
I have referenced that record here before. That the one with 'Jolly Old St. Nicholas' by Maurice Chevalier. My sister would play it incessantly to torture me. She hated the song almost as much as I did, but she derived great joy from my misery.

You can buy one over at Amazon. I looked at iTunes a while back but they didn't have it. Think I'll check again.

My dad put one of their home address labels on all his records, including this record. Brings back memories when I play it.

Come over to my place, we'll have a few drinks, listen to Steve and Edie and Sammy and it'll be fun.

If I consumed liquor and listened to that record I'd have a conniption.

Is hat Stve and Edie in the lower left corner. My new lenses make it a little hard to see items that small. I need to get some reading glasses to go over the contacts.

Who can name all the artists shown on the album cover?

I can name them in about 5 seconds.

Oh, you meant their actual names. That's a different kettle of chowder.
