When getting a haircut, do you spring for the shampoo/head massage?

    The question is simple.

I always spring for the extra $3 or so, simply because it's like a mini-head massage.

    You?

You have to pay extra for a shampoo and scalp massage?

When I was younger, my mother always cut my hair because she used to be a hair stylist. When I was in college, the little barber shop didn't even have a shampoo station. I went to one barber shop once, but they never even asked if I wanted my hair shampoo'ed.

If the shampoo were only $3 I'd do it. I don't get the blowout either.

I treat myself to a shampoo with a haircut on occasion. Very nice.

If all you need is a scalp massage, just get a girlfriend.

    And . . .

There is a place in Columbia, Missouri, I believe it is called Sport Clips. It may exist elsewhere; I do not know. But anyway, it's set up to look like a locker room, with each seat having its own TV tuned to ESPN. The haircutters are all young ladies, and not only can you get a haircut and a shampoo (with scalp massage), there is also a face massage (with warm towel over your face) as part of the deal.

This thread made me think of that wondrous place.

15 bucks for first-time visitors. 20 after that.

    Steep, yes. Only went once.
