    That is just downright hilarious. I might just start going back to temple if they'd do that here (ok, probably not, although I will fast for Yom Kippur).

    i'm a black sheep of the tribe. haven't been to high holiday servics since 10th grade confirmation classes. that said, l'shana tovah to the SportsJournalists.com tribe. so, who here is blowing the shofar?

    I'm always happy to drive 21 and her family to services. She never buys me a ticket for the service so I head down the street to a nice Irish bar room called The Shamrock for a few short drafts while I am waiting.

    Rabbi Puppetmaster. That's outstanding.

    My rabbi growing up used to show off every year by holding his final shofar note 40-45 seconds. I'd time it on my watch and there'd be a murmur and buzz after he was finished that I knew he fed off of.

    I haven't been to services in 20 years, since I graduated from college. Joined the temple in my area, but was always slammed with work during the High Holy Days. Then, I let my membership lapse.

    That said, I managed to fast up until a few years ago.

    Let me echo those sentiments.
