Please get some fact-checkers over there...

Talking about Jason Marquis, who just signed with the Cubs:

His best season came in 2004, when he posted a 15-7 record and a 3.71 ERA. He is 194-137 with a 4.55 ERA for his career in seven seasons.

Talk about a workhorse ... divide that over seven seasons, and the guy is averaging 28-20 a season. Haven't seen anyone like that siince...Matthewson? Probably more deserving of a contract in the Andy Pettitte range if that's the case.

Sheesh. It's been up there three-plus hours.

Yeah... he's actually pitched in 194 games, starting 137.
That would have been an amazing stat if it was true, and the Cubs would have themselves one heck of a bargain.
As is, they've got a mediocre back-of-rotation starter.

You need a fact-checker, too, tommyp. I think you meant 28-30 instead of 28-20. I'll forgive you.

The Detroit News had a Saturday story identifying Vince Young as last year's Heisman winner. How does something like that make it through the editing process with no one catching on?

Well after 12 weeks in the NFL, they did a secret re-count.
