I mean you're an NFL security guy, the Chiefs ask you to look into an incident with a player. You go to the hotel and ask for any and all video of the night in question. You go to the cops and ask for any and all video (copies to be sure, but you want to see what's out there before it hits TMZ or somewhere else.
I'm guessing the hotels may not want the video out since it might be bad for biz. You also let hotel employees know there might be money in it, if they can get you the video. Tell them they can sell it to TMZ as well if they wish - but you need to know what will be on people's screens in a few days, weeks or months - whatever.

Ok, Redskins, you know what to do next. Just do it.

This scenario assumes the NFL wants to know everything. All evidence to date indicates they want to know nothing beyond what the legal system provides them. They have chosen to have their hands perpetually forced on this issue.

Shoot - seems like a bad PR practice. When you always get caught with your pants around your ankles - don't you - at some point - use a belt?

Why should a private business cooperate with NFL security? Tell them to piss up a rope.

If you're part of a hotel chain for which the NFL means millions of dollars a year in revenue, you have a powerful incentive to cooperate.

Maybe. BuT framing NFL security as the second coming of the FBI is beyond laughable. They miss more than Roscoe P. Coltrane.

They're not there to find things out. They exist to keep US from finding things out.
