So much for the credibility of that story.

If the Boston Herald were to outlast the Globe, that might just be the most stunning thing to happen anywhere, ever. Not to exaggerate or anything.

Faux News ran a story this morning about a school district in Canton, Ohio that received several hundred applications for a janitor's position.

The really depressing side to the story was the job paid $15-16 per hour, more than what many beginning or mid-level journalists make. And for this I went to college? *sigh*

Let's just say I work in a job and location that, if it were open, would be widely mocked on the jobs board. :)

The NY Post has been losing a $1 million a week or more for many years.

I'd still take John Daly over the Boston Globe in the dead pool.

  11. The Globe is really in more financial trouble, and more likely to fold, than the Herald is in the same market?
    Please.

Apples and oranges. The rotary phone was replaced by a superior version of the same product that did exactly the same function with the same conveniences, only better. The same can't be said for digital only replacing newspapers. Many of the conveniences that make the print product attractive would disappear with it.
