Those of us accustomed to taking the game of life one day at a time should be especially diligent this week: July 9 to 15 is Sports Cliché Week.

... In the pre-electronic age, sportswriters served as verbal sieves for athletes and while the former might have created a hackneyed vocabulary of their own, the latter were rarely quoted at any great length, or without some editing along the way (if required). Now every athlete can spout the abbreviations of cliché and every fan worth his remote control can read between the so-familiar lines. We've even come to realize that language itself is no barrier — the clichés are more or less the same in Chinese or Spanish, German or whatever.

When these two cliches meet, anything can happen.

We have great team chemistry, and a lot of respect for other posters here, and we're not going to take them lightly. Hopefully we can step up and come out with a 'W'.

All season long, this thread didn't get any respect. Everybody counted this thread out, but it overcame a lot of adversity.
