    SI.com is looking for a seasoned editor to spearhead the editorial strategy and coverage plan behind our college football section, one of the pillars of our award-winning site.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    - 5+ years of web experience
    - Experience managing a diverse staff of writers and web producers
    - Skill in crafting everything from a tweet to adding polish to a long-form article
    - Specific knowledge and passion for college football (preferred); base knowledge of additional sports a plus
    - Strong leadership, communication and news judgment expertise
    - Proven hands-on editing, organizational and time management skills
    - Proficiency in AP style and grammar
    - Familiarity and experience working with various content management systems, including WordPress
    - Strong social media visibility, with an eye toward effective content sharing practices
    -Strong knowledge of base Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles
    - A proactive approach to developing—and promoting--fresh, creative ideas
    - Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment; able to adapt quickly to breaking news
    - Flexibility and adaptability are essential. Willingness to work Saturdays during the season, and be available during off-hours if major news breaks
    - Bachelor's Degree, preferably in journalism, communications, English or other related areas

    Duties:
    - Initiate a comprehensive content plan -- day-to-day and long-term -- of the college football section, both from written and multimedia angles
    - Collaborate frequently with editors, writers and other related team members to assure efficient and effective workflow
    - Top edit and help produce original content and ongoing features site-wide and across digital platforms.
    - Appreciation of the sport from a technical and a light-hearted nature preferred
    - Work with the homepage producer, plus the advertising and marketing team, to help suggest and producer content with sponsorship potential

    This position will report to the Managing Editor and will be based in New York City.
