Sometimes, your team just loses. I don't think Tebow lost any games for his team; his team just happened to lose.

Tebow had a fine season and deserved to win.

I gave up on watching the Heisman show back when Eric Crouch won and said " ... and I also like to thank Wendy's, the sponsor."

Three of his lowest four rated games were in those losses (fourth was a 30-24 win against Mississippi), half his interceptions and his three lowest yardage games were in those losses...

Last-second loss to LSU . . . I guess he couldn't stop all those fourth down conversions the Tigers made.

Last-second loss to Auburn . . . Why the hell couldn't he have blocked that winning FG? Heisman winner, my butt!

42-30 loss to Georgia . . . How the hell are you supposed to win if you can only lead your team to 30 points? FRAUD!

And if he was nothing but a passer, that might be significant.
But he's not, so it isn't.

Ricky Williams had something like 45 yards when Texas lost to Kansas State in 1998.

You could cite examples all day like this if you wanted to . . . including McFadden's pedestrian performances before Arky's season became irrelevant.

  5. Win the fucking games.
    Period.
If not, if we're giving it to middle of the pack SEC teams, McFadden should have bookends by now.

Two out of a gigantic total of six, if I read that unjustified pile of characters correctly, slappy. So only players from unbeaten teams should be considered for the Heisman? So Brennan it is, I guess.

I'm sorry, when did the Heisman change the designation to "best player on the best team" instead of just "best player in college football" in its rules?

You may not think Tebow was that, and an argument for McFadden is legitimate, but Tebow had a great season even if his team underperformed by typical Gator standards.

Hondo has no idea why he just came in his briefs.

And what's wrong with Tebow winning it? He had a great year. I'd have voted for Brennan (duh), but Tebow and McFadden woulda been on my ballot.

You're right. The 145 yards rushing -- especially the 15 against Georgia should be overlooked. My bad.

And McFadden didn't benefit from Arkansas offensive system?

No. Never said that. But don't feel he's deserving of the Heisman. (And if you'd like to tabulate columns, feel free.)
