Tiger v. JoePa and a look back at their legacies

    Tiger has the luxury of "re-inventing" himself and if he can get his shit together enough to break Jack's record, his "legacy" will be the textbook American tale of redemption. We've seen it so many times -- most people are just waiting for him to start winning golf tournaments again so they can cheer for him.

    Unfortunate timing for Paterno, being 84 and all. Don't feel sorry in the least for him, but this scandal is going to overshadow more than 60 years of contributions to Penn State. His obit, which should be on the edit desk right now, will lead with his failure to intervene and help Sandusky's victims.

    What's remarkable to me is JoePa just passed Eddie Robinson on the wins list and in the aftermath of the win, he was so gracious about shifting the conversation to talking about Eddie Rob's accomplishments instead of his own. "What a class man," we thought.
