Physical injuries could prevent him from topping Jack's mark.

    A tarnished image won't.

Neither will any anguish over his public embarrassment/humiliation. This, too, shall pass.

And lingering effects from the breakup of his marriage? just a hunch, but it doesn't seem like his marriage was that important to him anyway.

    Tiger crushes the 18 mark.

Good for her. No person deserves to be treated like that.

    Chronic knee problems
    Chronic heckling on the course
    Chronic substance problem, apparently

Jack looking REAL good in the career clubhouse

You think heckling will affect his swing? Seriously? Plus, a year from now, maybe sooner, everything on the course will be back to normal. People will heckle for a few weeks, maybe a few months. That's it.

Definitely believe that. Even if it was just one facial laceration, the kind that would heal in a few months, that's one too many to face cameras with if you're protecting the image. Still, he should have talked to someone, somehow. A radio confession/first interview would have been old-school.

His face isn't what I'm wondering about, it's his hands.

If you are holding a steering wheel at the time of a significant impact, bones, tendons, ligaments are extremely vulnerable.

That's how they often ID the pilot in a fatal plane crashes.... see who has the thumbs that are fractured.

Not sure I'd classify the SUV's impact with the tree as significant enough to cause such severe injuries to his hands, etc. But we'll see soon enough, I suppose. Hopefully, the photogs catch Tiger leaving the hospital. Doubtful. But here's hoping they do.

I can see him cashing in by mixing the golfing elements of EA's "Tiger Woods" XBox series with the debauchery of the "Grand Theft Auto" series.

Maybe you play 18 at Pebble Beach, then go trolling for porn starlets in Universal City.

Elin and the family were just a distraction, anyway.

Golfers should be married to the game.

He may be different on the course, mentally, physically, whatever. But heckling? Those notorious, killer golf crowds. It's not exactly the crowd at a Davis Cup match in Peru. These aren't the Cameron Crazies. No one's going to be holding up posters of the women, or throwing condoms onto the green as Tiger makes his walk up the 18th. Hecklers have bothered Colin Montgomerie occasionally. So say he faces the level of heckling Monty's gotten, though I think there's about a .5 percent chance of that. I'm still going to say Tiger has a bit more mental toughness on the course than Monty and can probably handle it.

Exactly. But the condom idea is pretty funny.
