So much for Lane Kiffin's theory that any publicity is good publicity:

I know not all of you follow this sort of thing, but Richardson and Jackson were among the top freshman recruits in the country this year. Not good news for the Vols ...

QUICK EDIT: You might remember Richardson as the guy Kiffin said Urban Meyer "cheated, but still didn't get" during the recruiting season. He's from Pahokee, Fla., which has traditionally been a Florida hotbed.

And Jackson switched his commitment from LSU to Tennessee on signing day.

From the "Gee, That's Ironic" Dept. ... the News-Sentinel's lead note following Wednesday night's practice was headlined thusly:

    "Jackson learns from mistake"

    Er, maybe not ...

It will be VERY interesting to see how CLK handles this, in both tone and action. Jackson was already being touted as Eric Berry's heir, while Nuke's "get" was being promoted as the first of many from Florida. Rumors were already swirling around both players before this incident.

Yeah, the rumor is that Jackson was suspended last week for failing a drug test.

Been listening to the sports station out of Knoxville over the Internet for about the last half-hour. According to the police report they've been reading from, Edwards and Richardson approached someone in a parking lot and tried to rob them with a pellet gun. Jackson was the wheel man lookout. And marijuana was found in their car.

    Done.

    You can't fix stupid.

  6. I heard they were wearing ski masks and their Halloween jerseys to hide their identities.

The updated report I heard this morning indicated the car was driven by a woman also claimed the pot and drug paraphenalia was hers.

    From Pat Forde's Twitter:

"Impresssive work by the freshmen Vols last night, allegedly knocking off the Pilot station while wearing UT gear. Heady play."

    LULZ.

No doubt, even if he shouldn't be, given the fact that his team has kept the Gainesville PD busy for the last few years.
