This week's anal retentive journalistic pet peeve

    Generally, a noun that comes from a verb+preposition construction will be hyphenated until it becomes so widely used that it is easily recognizable as one word. Walk-on apparently hasn't reached that standard.

    Is it supposed to be time out or timeout?

    Just asking because I've seen it both ways.

    As for mine -- using "over" or "under" when you mean "more than" or "less than"
