It's obvious to me right now that the Patriots just don't understand what the draft is all about. You look at the Lama, sure he's a big hitter, but just because he played at Tibet Ex-Pat U, that doesn't make him the best choice.[/melkiperjr]

He will wear No. 48 for the four noble truths and the eightfold path.

Angelo Craig currently has the number for the Patriots, but the Dalai Lama has promised to lead him down an accelerated path to enlightenment as well as $20,000 cash and a Himalayan hooker to get his number.

So for those keeping score at home: Dalai Lama, Patriots. Hugo Chavez, Georgia Bulldogs.

The Dalai Llama, left, of Tibet, assures an assembled throng that no one wants to hear television analysts break down the Tampa Two defense ever again. "Gunga, Gunga, Ga-lunga," the Llama might not have said.

The Dalai Llama of Tibet, the third-round selection of the New England, greats media members Sunday outside the Dana-Farber Field House. The Patriots feel safe in their selection after trading down and not selecting Pope Benedict XVI in the second round. The Llama will complement the selection of Satan in 2000.
