There isn't enough Aleve in the world

Played in the national slo-pitch championships this weekend and, man, am I hurting. In our single-knockout playoff game today, which we lost, I had to hit the dirt at two four times. Usually come up with the ball at least once a game in that scenario but I was on the wrong side of the inch all four times.
Then had to slide three times.
I am bruised. I am scraped up. I am bloodied.
And I'm sitting around the ballpark afterwards, watching a friend play, and I'll be damned if a wasp doesn't come along, settle into the hole on my knee from sliding and stick in his little stinger then fly away. Damn bloodsucker.
It hurts to bend my knee now.

 

Wish I had the chance to injure myself, just like in the old days. Can't find a league that fits my schedule, though.

 

I sacrifice my body for this game ...

 

Bruises are cool! And at least you have good stories to go with them...

One time before a softball game, I decided to check out some of the trails at the park.

One of them ended abruptly, and I ended up sliding down a small cliff. I had a walking stick, so I was able to use it to hook onto a rock, but my other arm and leg were pretty much hamburger.

Then it was time for the game.
