Anti-depressants are often overprescribed or wrongly prescribed ... as are a lot of medications. That doesn't mean they don't work.

And that doesn't take away from the overwhelmingly positive results that medication can have when prescribed and taken properly, under the supervision of a doctor.

    Try again.

Even the evil FDA is concerned about this, which should send up warning flares.

***Please note: In March, 2004, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a Public Health Advisory that cautions physicians, patients, families and caregivers of patients with depression to closely monitor both adults and children receiving certain antidepressant medications. The FDA is concerned about the possibility of worsening depression and/or the emergence of suicidal thoughts, especially among children and adolescents at the beginning of treatment, or when there’s an increase or decrease in the dose. The medications of concern—mostly SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors)—are: Prozac (fluoxetine), Zoloft (sertraline), Paxil (paroxetine), Luvox (fluvoxamine), Celexa (citalopram); Lexapro (escitalopram), Wellbutrin (bupropion), Effexor (venlafaxine), Serzone (nefazodone), and Remeron (mirtazapine). Of these, only Prozac (fluoxetine) is approved for use in children and adolescents for the treatment of major depressive disorder. Prozac (fluoxetine), Zoloft (sertraline), and Luvox (fluvoxamine) are approved for use in children and adolescents for the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder. But just praying really hard and thinking good thoughts will fix everything.

Oh, and I thought you said depression wasn't a real problem? Guess you don't care about contradicting yourself. Another bit of evidence that you are clueless.

  6. Anyone else thinking idiotsnetwork may, perhaps, be a Scientologist? It would explain a lot, actually.

    Great read on the Grienke.

And to keep from bogging down the place with other Royals threads, play-by-play man Denny Matthews was elected to the HOF today courtesy of the Ford Frick Award. For me, it's not officially summer until I'm headed to Hi-Boy and listening to Denny on the radio... never met the man, but his voice is the soundtrack of my childhood summers.

Minor threadjack over. Indiansnetwork, please resume being stupid.
