I'm not sure having two rookie QBs behind Aaron Rodgers is the Packers optimal scenario. Should Rodgers struggle or go down to injury, do they really want to hand the keys to a possible Super Bowl to rookies quarterbacks?

Simms comes in as the No. 2. Either Brohm or Flynn is the third string, and the odd man out goes to the practice squad. Or the Packers, like their trading partner, formerly based out of Hofstra, have four QBs on the roster.

If Flynn can make it past waivers onto the practice squad, I can see the possibility. But lost in all the stupidity in Tampa is if Chris Simms has fully recovered medically from the ruptured spleen almost two years ago.

That whole mess in Tampa was a disaster. Simms wanted out, the Bucs wouldn't let him out, then dump him now. Much of Gruden's luster is gone since that Lombardi Trophy was won some years back, and moves like this further highlight the point.

    INJURY REPORT
    Tom Brady (questionable, rigor mortis)

"I'm not a coroner, OK? When we get his report, we'll let you know," Bill Belichick said.

Jerome McDougle signed by the Giants. He'll smack Donovan McNabb around twice this season. Paybacks are a bitch.

  8. Fuck.

Then again, Derrick Burgess is the only former Eagles defender in a loooong time to have much a career outside of Philly: Bobby Taylor, Troy Vincent, Hugh Green, Jeremiah Trotter, Corey Simon, and a host of strong safeties all sucked once they were gone.

    Joey! Joey! Joey!

Finally, he goes to a quality franchise that will really allow him to shine. Comeback player of the year! [/deludedoregonduckfanboi]

Packers announced today that seventh-rounder Flynn is the No. 2 and second-rounder Brohm is the No. 3. Flynn was much better in pre-season.

Rudi Johnson landed with the Lions.

Not that it'll make a difference to their season.
