So if they DO save on office supplies, does it save jobs?

Maybe instead of Marriott points, reporters can start collecting Red Roof Inn points.

So how hard, and funny, would it be to mail Gerald Spector, CAO Tribune Co., a paper clip to 435 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, Ill., 60611? Just one paper clip. And a note, "Heard times are tough. Hope this helps."

If everyone at SportsJournalists.com did it, he would have more paper clips than he would know what to do with. Perhaps he could use them to fill up his Ferrari, you know, when he's driving the Lambourghini.

Great idea. Even better if you mail it from another Tribune paper -- with their envelope, stamp and paper clip.

I encourage all Tribune companies to steal as many pens, batteries and notebooks as they can get their hands on...

A box of paper clips, sticky note pad and a couple of pens would fit neatly in an old check box. :D
