Fun story about the absurd photo on the cover of the Washington Post:

A single sentence that rather nicely sums up the newspaper industry in this day and age.

We can explain things to you, but of course you have to wait 8 hours. Please don't get the answers from the HuffPo first.

The WaPo link has list to the best ice cream shops to boot.

I had ice cream two days ago and I live in North Dakota. Where's my story? I work just as hard.

It's an interesting/funny photo, but why would anyone give a crap?

That could so be me if it was chocolate. I'll eat ice cream in any weather.

I think it's amusing that a weather shot -- which photographers hate -- could become so instantly famous.

It's also cool that the tried and true crap that papers do could be devoured by the web like that.

But having the numbskull answer questions for readers is pretty dumb.

    I don't have a problem with it.

If it were taking resources away from covering major news -- Egypt or something -- then I would be against it. But, a newspaper (and its website) should have a little bit of something for everyone.

This is just a little fun. Nothing wrong with it.

They're acting like this photo is the equivalent of the fireman holding the baby after the OKC bombing.

It's a dumbass with an ice cream cone. Get over it.

Sounds like Gannett's next big idea.
