He makes about 900k from MLS. Maybe the price difference isn't worth it to him. I'm guessing that they want him to sign at least a 4 year deal and the salary decreases if Derby goes down.

Probably a smart business decision by Johnson.

If he continues to play well in MLS this season, the January transfer window in Europe may bring better offers.

  4. nice to see the Galaxy show a little bit of heart last night against Pachuca in the SuperLiga. There was actually a Landon Donovan sighting as he scored the winner.

Donovan also swung a great crossfield ball to Alan Gordon for LA's opening goal. His goal was a little lucky, but again, he looked motivated to play.

Against Mexico and Mexican teams, Donovan shows his ablities to the fullest.

Meanwhile, D.C. gets a 1-1 draw against Morelia, and Houston is up 1-0 against America at halftime.

    Houston-America has been very entertaining.

And Houston's one goal is enough, although they seemed to create more chances and maybe should have added a second before full time.

At the end, however, they were toying with America, knocking the ball around as the "Ole's" went up around the stadium. Very impressive performance.

He would probably have an out-clause if they're relegated. Most guys who are worth a damn do.

Hadn't thought of that. Finish up in KC, cash in.
