  1. That is brilliant and horrific.

If this came from a place other than a news source, it would just be brilliant. But that the DMN has sunk this low is just sad.

But it sure made me giggle.

This is what our profession has slowly turned into current leadership: An untrained journalist writing about how to deal with a farting woman.

    Jesus, help us all.

Had to look that up. Why the fuck does anybody at all care about what the Cowboys' backup tight end has to say about anything?

Again, there are lots of other blogs nobody's talking about today. This one has two different threads going on here. Not to say all attention is good attention by any means, but if we're talking about it, other people are talking about it. Bennett might just be doing it for the publicity, so it's not like he's necessarily taking a paycheck from someone ...

    Good point.

And Bennett's always doing it for the publicity, no matter what "it" is.

First of all, girls don't fart. They "poot."

Secondly, if Marty B had dropped the news nugget that you have to light a match after Ma Simpson leaves the room, then you got a story.

There's still a few of us who think she's very easy on the eyes, regardless of what she says. Don't ruin it for us.

I remember back in the late '60 and early '70s when things that were never supposed to be hip, like local news broadcasts and television commercials, started to try to get with the counter culture, making complete fools of themselves in the process. It finally hit the PGA Tour in the mid-70s.
Newspapers have the same attitude towards the Internet. They see the sizzle, not the steak, try to imitiate, and fail.

This is pretty much off topic, considering I agree that this thing is fuckin' horrific ...

But Bennett was pretty much a folk hero at Texas A&M. He's fairly popular in this state. And he could be a fuckin' beast for the Cowboys. He's not just some no-name. At least not down here.

But, yeah, the DMN shouldn't be involved in this ... in part because Marty B's Internet hijinks have already proven to be too much for Jerry Jones http://www.nowpublic.com/sports/martellus-bennett-rap-video-brings-fine-and-youtube-apology

Much like the Dave Sittler column, the DMN knows its audience. Anything Cowboy-related will be a big draw on the website. Even, actually especially, if it's a steaming pile of suck like this blog is.
