    OK, figured something out today. You can get the friends status updates with two clicks (instead of one the old way). You click on "home" and at the top left of that page there now is a "status updates" icon to click on. The only difference is it also includes all the comments other made to those status updates. But it does eliminate all those other application things we were having to "hide."

    That doesn't solve the problem of seeing when people update their work information or, less importantly, add favorite movies or whatnot.

    It does if you click the status updates option.
