    If I'd been here I certainly would have been all over this, even not being from New York (although I did once live there).

    Here's what I would have done:

    It would have been uncomfortable for many if the Verrazano was renamed for JFK. After all, many of JFK's Italian enemies lived on Staten Island.

    Ted was in the procession of classic cars driven across the bridge as part of cerimony.

    He was driving a 1967 black Olds 88.

    I'm sure the air traffic controllers get a big kick out of Reagan Washington National Airport.

    I can't think of a single Staten Island mobster (or NY crime family for that matter) who was considered part of any of the various JFK assassination conspiracy theories. It's changed in recent years, but Staten Island was about 95 percent Catholic when the bridge was built and JFK was about as popular there as a president could be. My grandparents had his picture next to their picture of the pope.
