I love Chris Jones' writing. I thought his piece this week on the Metrodome was inspiring. I mean, really, it inspired me and gave me a new outlook on things.

When he was here, I thought he was one of SJ's great ones.

But at risk of SJ blasphemy, isn't it a bit much to call him The Jones? Sounds so fawning and silly.

His name is Chris Jones. And he's damn good at what he does.

Bubbler's post is perfect. Yes, he's an incredible writer. We all know this. Let him inspire everyone to write better material, rather than fawning posts on a message board. It's getting weird.

Edit: Posted this before I saw Junkie's thoughts. Same idea.

It's always risky to drink the Jones kool-aid.

I always thought The Jones was a silly message board nickname, not a tribute.

According to the SJ search engine, here's the first usage of it ... http://www.sportsjournalists.com/forum/posts/1523377/

I always thought it was a pun on the slang for 'addiction.'

I thought that was the common reference for him here.

    The Moddy agrees.

Chris Jones. Terrific writer. Terrific guy. Perfectly fine name.
