Dick Cheney would have been Oberkommando der Wehrmacht in another life

  2. Hell, no. He devoted his 20's to breeding his way out of military service.
    He'd have had "other priorities."

Well, F_B, he is "kinda covered" by showing up a the service Tuesday and giving a little speech.
But seriously, he should have flown home from Texas today to be a presence at these services throughout the 5-day period.
It is what Presidents should do in honor of past Presidents.
Of course, this dork has no sense of honor

If it's not about him, I don't think he cares.

No, he's not covered. The official state funeral of a former President is Saturday? Okay, then ... that's the one the current President (especially one from the same party) should be busting his ass to attend.

    Pathetic. Reprehensible. Disgusting. Dishonorable.

There might be black people at the funeral.

Nicely done (see, I can give you credit when it is deserved).

Add me to the chorus here. Piss-poor decision by President Bush. Dishonorable and disappointing, though not surprising.

Oh, if only it did involve him.

    If only ...

You would think Condi would get in his face and tell him to get with the real world.

    Oh, I forgot . . . she doesn't have the guts.

And where the hell is Laura, in all this? C'mon, Stepford Wife, come back to consciousness.

  10. What's astounding to me is that Ford was a hero of HIS OWN DAMN PARTY!! I could see him pulling this shit with Carter. Also can't believe HW didn't let him know the proper protocol.

He's supposed to be working on a new Iraq strategy while at the ranch. After this, he better come up with one hell of a new strategy that does not involve sending more troops.
