Before we got married, we were at my wife's aunt and uncle's house.

His daughter is about 25 and will one day get married, and she'll have a princess wedding.

So were were talking about how much it was going to cost for everything and he asked us and we said we're doing it for about 12-14 grand. He turned white, went upstairs and started crunching numbers. That was pretty funny, poor man.

And like sosueme, we had a great wedding, mother-in-law's in the liquor business so we had plenty of that, great food great musc for about 14,000.

Life can be cruel sometimes. Better hedge your bets.

Ours is running right around $10,000 right now. It's going to be pretty chic rather than over-the-top.

My girlfriend said she'd like a 10K ring. I told her since that's nearly half my yearly salary, she could buy me a trinket of love with half of her yearly salary - a Yukon with 22-inch rims.

I've been trying to start a trend and it's worked so far. Girls get engagement ring, guys get engagement plasma TV. Two out of the four girls have gone through with it so far.

See if you can also get them to agree to put the toilet seat up for us.

If the author feels that an engagement ring is some kind of gender insult, don't bother with it.
    But what's wrong with tradition?
I figure there's more than a few atheists - myself included - who celebrate Christmas because its a tradition, rather than a birthday party for Jesus

If the gays get their way, this wouldn't even be a problem. ;)
