Was anyone hurt inside the US embassy in Cairo?

Isn't Benghazi essentially the seat of the new government?

I'm guessing it's where our Ambassador spent the majority of his time. Embassy or not, our Ambassador and his staff should be kept safe.

What's important is that two of our diplomatic compounds were attacked for no reason and an ambassador was killed - either at the consulate or in his vehicle. And if it was in his vehicle it doesn't matter if it was a consulate or an embassy.

No kidding. But no one can be kept safe 100 percent of the time.

    The film's trailer:

Boy, looks like a real high quality production. How many ever would've even heard of this "film", much less watched it, if not for the reaction--maybe 50?

What a ridiculous cause for international crisis. We live in an age where just about anybody with a youtube account and some basic equipment is capable of creating comparable schlock--sure hope the muslim brotherhood doesn't plan on blaming our govt and fomenting riot every time someone does.

If they were trying to evacuate the consulate because it wasn't safe, it certainly matters.

On the original thread I wondered whether his security was a US Marine contingent, or US State Department security or whether it was a private contractor like Blackwater/Xe/Academi.

All of that matters, whether you try to shoehorn this into some ideological cubbyhole or not.

The foreign service, especially in the middle east, especially now, is dangerous work.

Rioting animals don't really need an excuse to kill people but it's nice to have cover I guess.

So it's our fault for not having enough security?

I guess we should apologize for that too.

Everything I've seen says "no reported" injuries of "US staff".

That's not the same thing as confirmation of no injuries.

And doesn't change the fact the embassy was attacked in the first place.
