    Why White Shadow?

    Because Coolidge says so.

This is my, "of the top of my head" answer.

Probably tells you as much about my age as anything, but it was by far my favorite show as a kid.

Square Pegs was the Freaks & Geeks (or maybe My So Called Life) of it's day. Wildly popular among a small group of people with a cult following extending years beyond it's run.

Add in "Something suddenly came up."

I was in high school when Square Pegs was on and it was a lot more realistic than other shows of that era. Everyone always knew kids who didn't fit in like Patty and Lauren, everyone knew the guy who told the bad jokes (Marshall Blechtman), the music freak (Johnny Slash), the stuck-up bitch (Muffy Tepperman).

Happy Days was a pretty good show before ..... oh, don't make me say it.

    No, no.

Square Pegs is too old to be on this list. It already has its minimal 1980s representation.

What about the TV version of Fast Times? The Powers of Matthew Star?

    Family TIES?!?!?!!?!?

    The list is apocryphal!

I'd heard of the TV version of Fast Times but don't think I ever saw an episode. Doubt I missed anything.

Oh, go on ... you know you want to.

Another vote for Room 222 here. Not just Karen Valentine (talk about great potential never realized), but it was groundbreaking stuff for its time ... would be very tame today, of course.

Also worthy of consideration: Boston Public?

The inclusion of Glee on this list got me thinking about which is the worst of all-time.

Reggie Theus' attempt to bring down the NBC Saturday morning empire with Hang Time comes to mind.

    Dawson's Creek was pretty craptacular.

Just the 10 of Us was horrific in the late 80s.

Hanging with Mr. Cooper? Does Drexel's Class count?

"James at 16." It wasn't on very long, but it was an excellent show. So was "Family."
