The AP reports that Steve McNair's blood alcohol level was twice over the limit.

Considering that being intoxicated makes you more likely to speak unpleasant truths, it does shed some light on what happened.

 

I would understand if they said he was drunk. But why tie it to being over some bar that doesn't exist in the home?

'Ceptin' the story says the cops say McNair was likely asleep when he got shot.

I guess he might have said something earlier, but, still, seems like an odd angle. And expressing his BAC as "twice the legal limit for driving" seems odd, to say the least.

All that said, it's news, just not top of the wire news like it's being played now.

 

Mentioning the driving limit and how far over he was simply puts it into context for a lot of people.

And really, did anyone think he didn't have alcohol in his system?
