That Patch concept? (Updated 9/23)

    Like on the Gannett/Mommy thread, we're not rooting for it to fail as an entity. Rather, their business practices make it difficult to root for them to succeed.

    If it turned into a viable entity, that's one thing. But there are stories (true or not seems to depend on the site), in which you have one editor basically having to work 7 days a week for considerably more than 40 hours. As noted above, now these editors are supposedly having to set up and attend TRADE SHOWS on their own time?

    Sorry. If Patch tried for a viable business model that wouldn't work their employees to death, I'd be rooting for them. But it seems like they want to do this on the cheap. And that's not worth rooting for.
