Thanks to Deadspin, I've found some Chris Berman work I won't mute

That was the greatest. I don't know what the particulars are and if he was out of line. But damn, that was an All-Star rant. Unbelievable execution on his part.

I enjoy piling on Berman as much as the next guy, but I actually find his rant understandable under the circumstances. If I'm on national TV, and people are doing things around and behind the camera that could make me look like even more of a jackass than I am, I'd be pissed.

    And it was certainly entertaining.

TMZ is one of the most popular websites out there... Comparing something to it is a colossal compliment...

The Big Lead is a great site. So is Deadspin.

I would really like to know what someone did to provoke that. Seems like a huge overreaction.

Honestly, Elliotte, that sounded to me like an eruption that was building for a while.
I'd lay good money that wasn't the first time the crew disrupted him.

But was it the first time he'd mentioned it?

Being pissed off a lot doesn't excuse an eruption like that if you haven't voiced any of it before.

I'd bet there is a lot more to that footage than we'll ever see.

Really. What could the crew be doing?

C'mon. Unless the crew was waving bedsheets with "Berman you suck!" I'd say he stepped over the line.

No, instead Berman cited them for "moving." Which I don't think even gets you a ticket in most states. Well, maybe Texas.

gimme a break. why is it anyone who appears in front of a camera thinks they are special?

You've got a right to do your job without distraction. It's professional courtesy. Ever seen what happens to people who carry on a bit too loud in the pressbox after a late game? They get verbally rebuked -- usually loudly and in unison.
