In fact, women talk almost three times as much as men, with the average woman chalking up 20,000 words in a day - 13,000 more than the average man.

Women also speak more quickly, devote more brainpower to chit-chat - and actually get a buzz out of hearing their own voices, a new book suggests

The best part: the simple act of talking triggers a flood of brain chemicals which give women a rush similar to that felt by heroin addicts when they get a high.

I have no idea what you mean. I mean, sure, girls talk a lot. I mean I talk a lot. I talk more than most probably. I talk A LOT. I talk fast, too. LIke really fast. Like micromachines fast. And I can talk a whole lot without taking a breath. Kind of like that cheerleader girl on the cell phone commercial showing her minutes running down. THAT is an annoying commercial. I mean, who wants to see their minutes ticking down? Certainly not me. I'll use them until they run out, then I won't use them anymore. Like, duh. But I like my cell phone. I have a Razr. I've had it for about 11 months. It's not new like 21's Blackjack (hahaha 21's Blackjack! Get it?) but it works good and I like it. It's kind of hard sometimes because it's so thin that I can't hold it against my ear while talking. But I like the camera on it, and you can take video. Know what my favorite video is? Right now, I'm not sure. But overall? I love the a-ha video for "Take On Me" I mean, who doesn't love that video? I think it could still win an MTV award right now. It's awesome! Plus, I had a thing for Morten Haarket. He would have been on my five back then if I were old enough to have a list of five. I'm 30 now, so I can have a list of five. And I'd talk a lot to each of them. Either way, I think this study was stupid. Girls talk. Duh. Get used to it.

 

Anthropologists speculate that men talk less because while hunting any noise could frighten potential prey.

That also explains why women talk more because they would make noise in order to scare off potential predators.
