A 13-year-old girl sent nearly 15,000 text messages in one month. Her phone bill was 440 pages long.

    This is ridiculous.

I think that I might trade her for beer, meat and $16,000.

Sounds like there might be an absence of parenting here.

Did she send any to the mayor of Detroit?

Jesus, that makes my 13-year-old's 4,000 last month look pedestrian.

OMG LMAO That's a LOT of texting. If that was my daughter, she'd be grounded until she was 45. Nah, let's go with an even 50.

20.83 messages per hour. Did she sleep?

Oh, I don't think the bill would have killed poor Greg... the daughter on the other hand...

  10. Another thought: Maybe it's time to go to paperless billing, Greg? I'm sure your daughter can figure out the how to.

The only thing I wonder is -- if you send a text message to a group of people -- does it count as one text or many texts?

That number is obviously ridiculous - but if she had a group of like 30 or 40 friends and family that she sent lots of chain-texts and/or just group texts too and they all send them back, well, that would explain the number being so high.

It just seems impossible to send out 21 messages an hour, 24 hours per day for 30 days or whatever.

You clearly underestimate the texting ability of teenagers.
