Who cares what the national poll says? You need state-by-state polls so you can predict who's going to win which electoral votes. In presidential politics, for the general election the national poll/popular vote means nothing ... the electoral college means everything.

It would be the most bizarre electoral map in U. S. history if Obama beats McCain by four percentage points in the national general popular, and somehow fails to win the Electoral College . . . and I'm giving McCain Florida, when I say that.

It'd be nice if the networks realized this. Every election it's the same fucking thing. National polls say... National polls indicate... Who gives a fuck? They mean nothing.

But so others do not forget . . . the national economy by this fall is really, really, REALLY going to suck, and when that happens, the incumbents take it right in the chops.

And since there isn't an incumbent running what does that mean?

    The GOP will get blamed.

And well they should, given their disgraceful spending levels which have handed Joe Sixpack the lovely dollar evaluations of recent days . . .

Actually under your logic we'd have a Dem president and a GOP House and Senate.

Dollar's fall is all on W, with his reluctance to veto anything his cronies churned out through 2006, and his little Middle Eastern adventure . . .
