Tell me this AP credit really is in error

    A guy I worked with once wrote

    "So and so dropped 10 dimes on Central High."

    Dimes? What?

  6. He meant that after the game, So and So climbed up the fire escape to the roof of Central High and dropped 10 dimes on it.

    "For all my homies who are no longer with us," he said. "Ten dimes."

    Once had a part-timer write that the bases were "drunk" with Wildcats, meaning loaded, I suppose. That didn't get in. Of course, he also once wrote that a basketball team missed a shot at the "buzzard." That didn't get in either. (Lucky bird.)
