Richard Hatch practically invented the way the game is now played. On the first day, he told the cameras that if no one else wants to think strategy, he would be the winner. Everyone else was concerned with trying to be important, building a camp.

Now everyone tries to do what he did.

No. 6 on my list would have been Colleen from Season 1.

Sue Hawk belongs on that list - don't know where the show would be without her speech about the rat and the snake.
Many of the other nominees, I couldn't pick out of a line-up.

    No Heidi.

God, if the show had only been on HBO that year.

The lineup was from two top 25 lists I googled and I added five more. I think Sue Hawk's second appearance in all-stars wipes the shit out of any chance she had of being one of the better players. Yeah, she might've given the game to Hatch in season 1, but I doubt it because the reality was, Hatch played the game and was a model for everything that has been.

I also didn't put All-Star winner and Boston Rob wife Amber Bkrich on the list. Her video submitted in her tryout for her initial survivor said she wanted to do it because she was "bored" and her bio showed she lived with her parents. Makes one wonder why some people find gold in the toilet when they take a crap.

It's strange, when Survivor first came on, I did not miss an episode .. no way, no reason ... attended finale parties, etc. That was up through Vanuatu, I think about No. 8 or 9. The very next one, Palau, I was watching about mid way through and I hit some kind of Survivor wall. They were in the middle of an immunity challenge one night, I changed the channel and haven't seen a minute of the show since.

I don't know how I could go from being such a huge freak of the show to total cutoff. Maybe it was just a matter of how many times can you do the same stuff.

I've always maintained that if Richard Hatch doesn't win Season 1, the show would not be the success it is today.

He's no. 1 and whoever is second (probably Boston Rob) is a very distant second.

Notice how the majority of your names are from the earliest seasons. I guess I haven't missed much since I stopped watching.

I've missed three full seasons. The one with JT and Coach, Thailand and Marquesas, which I went back and watched later.

There have been a few seasons where I've lost interest and stopped watching.
