From ESPN: Peyton career against teams from the NFC: 54 TD, 14 INT.

Even without Tommie Harris, and based on the Colts' horrendous run defense from wire to wire in the regular season, I'll have to go ahead and... disagree with you there...

Dear Omar: That was a typo. I meant to say the Bears' defense wasn't better than the RAVENS defense the Colts had already defeated. My bad. Why isn't there a desk on the Internet?

Ah. So noted. Even as a Bears fanboy, I'd agree with that...

As for the game... I agree that the Colts are the favorites.

But Indy's defensive front is still undersized, and remember how bad the Colts were against the run all season. The Seahawks and Saints--both better in rush defense than the Colts--tried to stack against the Bears, and Jones and Benson still tore them up.

If the Bears can get a turnover or two, and Rex doesn't flame out, I really like their chances.

Plus, when really good offense takes on really good defense in Super Bowls... historically, the really good defense wins.

    There's my optimistic take.

If Harris and Brown were healthy, I would like the Bears' chances much more. But they're not.

It will be interesting if it comes down to the kickers... If Vinatieri is the best, Gould is top five behind Akers, Kaeding and Rackers...

    Colts 31, Bears 24

    1st quarter it'll be 7-0 Colts
    2nd quarter it'll be 13-3 Colts
    3rd quarter it'll be 19-9 Colts
Final score it'll be 26-15 Colts

Claws will win a SB pool ... oh, and Peyton will have his first (and only) SB title.

If Payton wins today, it won't be his last

Then why did you pick them to make the Super Bowl on our first playoff thread?

I hope the Bears hang around and make it respectable. If the weather is lousy, maybe they will. But I suspect this one is over by halftime.
