I didn't know you were thinking along those lines. If a state is running things, won't it just have a bookie manage it? The same small group companies are operating all the new books I have heard of.
New Jersey didn't lose $10 million, the casinos did. And they never have stories about how much the casinos win on the sports books.

Several friends said CBS All Access crashed in the second half and they weren't able to watch the end of the game.

I was watching on TV, not streaming, but I kept getting hitches in the broadcast feed throughout the first half. Don't know if it was just my cable or equipment or what, but we had it on in two rooms and whenever the sound cut out in one I could tell it was out in the other as well.

Okay - but I do think my point about the dillution of sportsbook talent is valid now that Vegas isn't the only game in town. I do figure you're right though - many states will simply outsource the sports betting business for a guaranteed return. Like many tribal casinos have operating agreements with the same casino management company.

12th Championship parade since 2000 in Boston parade. All four major teams. I miss the "long-suffering" Boston fan. Those fans had charm and mystique.

This is pretty damn funny. Saints fans, who were boycotting the Super Bowl, apparently filled their time by furiously masturbating to football-related porn.

According to data released by Pornhub.com, nationwide porn viewing dropped 21 percent during the game — except in Louisiana, where it dropped off just 2 percent, the smallest drop of any state in the country.

Additionally, searches for terms such as NFL, football cheerleaders, Super Bowl, touchdown, naked cheerleaders, and Cardi B all spiked.

Wasn't it Curt Schilling who hearing about the Yankees' "aura and mystique" said it sounded like a couple of strippers?

Is that what he spent all that taxpayer money on?

Oh, sure they do. You can look up any Nevada gaming statistic and the papers out there report on them religiously. In the long run, the sports books are profitable of course but they make far, far less money than slots and table games. But casinos without sports books miss out on a lot of customers that would have likely dropped their profits on the slots and tables. Why do you think the sports books are tucked into the back of the casinos?

It's a matter of time. That's why I like sports books. It takes 30 seconds to lose X dollars at the tables. Bet on a ball game, it takes three hours. What I have seen a lot of people do is make bets at a book on East Coast games, go out and do whatever they do, and check back on their investment like at about 8, when the games are over but the night is very young.
