  1. Prince rocked a few years ago.

I'd like to see Radiohead do a medley ;D

No one wants to sit through 15 minutes of Dave Matthews' unintelligible crap (hey, kokane!).

Given the other options, that's not a bad idea.

    How about Eric Clapton?

Someone mentioned that yesterday, but I think he's completely off the radar for most people under 50.

Kanye West, just to see what the hell he would do. Watch his SNL performance and tell me what he would do to upstage that at the Super Bowl.

    Weird Al?

He's had hits spanning about 30 years...

A great suggestion I just heard: Ted Nugent. THAT would be a show.

DMB was rumored for last year's SB. They aren't touring this summer - just playing a couple festivals celebrating their 20th anniversary. So a Super Bowl performance would be an interesting way to kick off a return to touring in 2012.

They haven't done a country one in awhile now.

Kenny Chesney would be great (I can vouch personally for his live show).

How about Beyonce? She's young, yet has mass appeal. I'm not that familiar with her music, but she's got enough big hits to fill 12 minutes. I bet she'd put on a high-energy show. And I think she's pretty safe (i.e., unlikely to drop expletives or show us her nipple).

If she brought along Jay-Z, that would be even bigger, but he might be a little too dangerous for the NFL. In any event, I think she's big enough to pull it off all by herself.
