    Having not had cable in months, that kind of programming would be a drastic improvement.

    I have no problem with 26-year-olds per se, just everyone under 30, especially if they like Barack Obama.

    Do most union contracts have stipulations or conditions about layoffs or does the union only have the power to say who goes?

    Usually it's done by seniority. Chicago's contract could have been different, since the company isn't exactly on firm footing.

    That is not a large newsroom. The Sun-Times story says there are 188 Guild-covered newsroom employees before the layoffs:
